About Us
With over two decades of dedication, STAR Space (formerly Speech Therapy Associates) has established itself as a leading provider of speech and language therapy in New Zealand. Founded by Patty Govender, a highly experienced speech- language therapist, our practice has grown into a dynamic, client-centred team focused on delivering exceptional care. Our skilled therapists bring a diverse range of expertise to address speech, language, and swallowing challenges for both children and adults.
We work with children aged 2 to 18 years, supporting their communication needs
through every stage of development, from early childhood to primary, intermediate and high school-age challenges. For adults, we provide specialised therapy to support those with communication and swallowing difficulties, particularly those recovering from neurological conditions such as stroke and brain injury. Our evidence-based, individualised therapy plans ensure that we meet the unique needs of each client.
We offer both in-person sessions in Auckland and the wider region, as well as tele-therapy (online) services nationwide and internationally, ensuring that high-quality support is accessible to everyone, no matter where they are. Our collaborative approach involves working closely with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to create a strong support network that maximises each person’s potential.
At STAR Space, our mission is simple: to empower clients of all ages to communicate with confidence and clarity, and to support those facing swallowing difficulties with compassionate and effective care.
